Importing data into Scoro
Let’s Make Your Scoro Data Migration Work!
Moving to Scoro? Switching to a new CRM or ERP system shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth. But let’s be honest – most data migrations are a nightmare. Your old system is full of messy data, duplicate contacts, and information scattered everywhere. Sound familiar? We’ve been there. After helping dozens of businesses migrate to Scoro, we’ve seen it all – and we know exactly how to do this.
Scoro data import process.
To import your data:
- Open Import/Export from the menu (three dots).
- In the Import/Export module, open the tab of the data you’ll be importing (like Companies)
- Click Choose file and add your import file.
- Click Proceed.
- Map the columns in your file to Scoro field names.
- Click Import. Depending on size of your Data, you might need to wait few minutes.

While the Import process itself seems pretty straightforward, preparing data for import is not.
Your data is usually messier than you think. We must clean it and normalise, before importing.
Before you even think about moving data, here’s what you’re probably dealing with:
Your data is a mess
We’ve seen spreadsheets where phone numbers and addresses live in the same cell. Customer names spelled three different ways. Missing email addresses. It happens to everyone.
Duplicates everywhere
That important client? They might exist as “ABC Corp,” “ABC Corporation,” and “A.B.C. Corp” in your system. Good luck figuring out which one is current.
Nothing matches
Your old CRM calls it “Client ID” but Scoro wants “Customer ID.” Multiply that by hundreds of fields and you’ve got a mapping headache.
Historical baggage
Do you really need those 2018 draft invoices or Leads lost five years ago? Sometimes starting fresh means leaving the clutter behind.

First, we sit down and figure out what you actually need. What data matters? What can you live without? What are your goals with Scoro?
No point in moving garbage data just because it exists.

You send us your data export, and we roll up our sleeves.
We’ll separate those combined address/phone fields, fix the spelling inconsistencies, and merge duplicate contacts. Think of it as Marie Kondo for your customer database.

Here’s the thing – your old system probably forced you into weird workarounds.
Scoro might have better ways to handle your workflows. We’ll look at how you actually work and set things up properly from the start.

We always start with the essentials – customers and contacts.
The historical stuff (old invoices, completed projects) gets evaluated separately. Sometimes it’s worth importing, sometimes it’s better left as a backup file.

The fanciest migration in the world is useless if your team doesn’t know how to use the new system.
We’ll train your people so they’re actually comfortable with Scoro on day one.
